A popular traditional medicine originating in ancient China that uses small needles to stimulate the body's natural healing response in order to treat pain and other physical, mental and emotional health issues.

Dr. Charity Burgess DACM , Dipl. O.M., L.Ac.

Dr. Charity Burgess is an Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner, licensed by the state of California. For her undergraduate education, Charity earned an English degree from Virginia Commonwealth University with a minor in Religious Studies. It was a religious studies course about eastern religions and their corresponding medical systems that introduced her to Chinese Medicine in 1999. After a decade of experiencing profound healing as a patient she set out to learn this mysterious and (seemingly) magical medical system.

In 2012, Charity moved to San Francisco to study at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM). Under the supervision of renowned Qigong teacher, Dr. Liping Zhu, Charity began studying the Heavenly Essence Qigong system alongside her Master’s Degree program. She has since become a disciple of the Heavenly Essence lineage and continues her studies. She is a certified Heavenly Essence Te Yi Medical Qigong practitioner. In 2019 she received her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) from ACTCM.
